Hey everyone... Just back from doing stuff...

Currently I'm doing summer classes while pumping up for the Anime Expo (or AX) this upcoming week... So expect anime related talk and stuff... If it ever comes...

But enough of that let's get to the Nitty Gritty...

Warhammer 40K is coming in faster than an Ork Bomma landing... And will probably crash like one too (minus the Ork Bits...) There aren't much changes... save for a few subtle ones and a few Large ones...

If you haven't got a good look at the book yet (or got a new copy of white dwarf) Then I'm gonna spill some things for ya to get excited for...

If you have no interest whatsoever on what I'm gonna say... Then scroll down a bit til you reach the end mark... You wuss...

Overview:
The book is brand new with the best looking hammer to date... They do suggest that the hammer symbolizes on what is yet to come... but aside...

A few changes here and there, no not alot of army tweaking... but here's some things you should note...


Running: (I like to call this a Mad dash...)

All infantry and walker models have a new rule called running, Instead of shooting, you can decide to run, however, you cannot assault afterwards so it's not wise to run when the enemy is very close to ya

The Rule fleet of foot changed too, If you have this rule, You may assault afterwards, In this case, Running as close as you can is a good thing...

(on a note Ork Players using their Waaagh! move and running are two different things, You either use one or the other...)

Combat (think of warhammer fantasy and you're close...)

There's a new combat system that is more similar to fighting in Warhammer fantasy... Making it easier for the players in both worlds to connect more...

I'm not going into details, but mostly it involves who can deal the most wounds and see who runs afterwards...

Penetration (for vehicles... duh...)

the table for vehicle penetration rules have changed slightly... instead, you get one table and you get modifiers depending on the attack.

This rule is more interesting in this version
when firing someone into combat, to judge if you're able to shoot it, Depends if the model can see it's target. At times, you need to look down to the models perspective... That or get a lazer pointer and see if it connects...
You cannot shoot models that show less than 25% of their bodies... so there...


cover saves (more to hide from)

there are two new cover save rules to look at.
First of all, there is normal cover and Full cover. Full cover is when you basically get as low as you can to dodge a bullet to the head. When you do it, you get a +1 bonus to cover (so when hiding in a trench that gives a +4, and ducking for cover, You get a +3 save instead...)

Also, when shooting, if you shoot through another unit (friend or foe) The person you're shooting too gets a +4 cover save, as it's harder to hit a moving target, more when you're shooting in a crowd...
